This dataset was collected from an exploratory dual-task experiment conducted to investigate attentional demands and physiological correlates of situational awareness in industrial-like multitasking scenarios. The experiment involved 12 participants performing a manual screwing task while simultaneously responding to a Go/No-Go attentional test designed to emulate real-world industrial multitasking demands. Physiological data including electrocardiogram (ECG) and electrodermal activity (EDA), alongside hand acceleration data, were recorded using wearable sensors. Reaction times to Go/No-Go stimuli were also collected as indicators of attentional load. The dataset consists of event-based features extracted from these signals, providing insights into the relationship between physiological arousal and task performance. For detailed methodology and analysis, please refer to our publication: "Studying Dual-Task Awareness in Industrial Settings Through Reaction Time and Physiological Signals". Files and folders definitions:
accelerometer dominant hand: this folder contains a CSV file named accelerometer, this is the accelerometer data from the Metamotion wrist sensor of the dominant hand.
Empatica: this folder contains the raw data from Empatica on the non-dominant hand. Please note that each participant 11 have 2 folders of raw data within this folder (raw_data_1, and raw_data_2), please connect them manually as the nature of empatica sensor saves the data every 30 minutes in separate files, so the last few seconds of the experiment data has been saved in a separate file (raw_data_2).
Polar data: this folder contains the raw data from the polar sensor for ECG and HRV data.
timestamp report: this folder contains the timestamps of the whole steps within the experiment. Please refer to table 1 which shows the experiment protocols and steps. Also refer to table 2 which shows the experiment coded instructions which was divided into two levels: medium, and hard. Table 2 is composed of 10 rows and 8 columns, each row start with a block of 4 medium and then a block of 4 hard, so the timestamp of the beginning of each block was also recorded.
Hence,
1st medium is for the first block (4 positions within the first row), 1st hard is for the 2nd block (4 positions within the first row),
2nd medium is for the first block (4 positions within the 2nd row), , 2nd hard is for the 2nd block (4 positions within the 2nd row), and so on for the other rows.
Go_NoGo_Data: this is the output result of every step within the experiment and the timestamps, in addition to the timestamps of the beginning and the end of the experiment in the last two rows.
Manual assembly report: this is the output result of the manual task. The total achieved tightening screwed, the number of errors (marked with 0). Please note that, the instruction was divided into two levels, medium (Green color), hard (red color).
Please consider the timestamps of starting and ending experiment based on the Go_NoGo_Data timestamps.
Note: that there 1 hour difference in the timestamps of the empatica data and other timestamps
